Provide technical support to operations and ensure facility compliance with appropriate environmental regulations and permits. Key responsibilities include serving as the subject matter expert in the area of air permitting and regulatory compliance; planning, organizing, managing and evaluating environmental programs; developing relevant policies, procedures and systems; preparing reports for regulatory agencies; preparing air, water and solid waste permit applications and negotiating conditions for efficient and compliant operation; anticipating and reporting compliance issues; investigating concerns and ensuring corrective action; serving as the primary contact for releases of potential environmental pollutants; and assisting in the planning and supervision of selected mill process testing.

Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical or Environmental Engineering, or Pulp and Paper Technology; 6 years of environmental experience in a process-oriented environment; a proven track record in safety and environmental initiatives; working knowledge of federal/state/local regulations and permitting programs; understanding of continuous emissions monitoring requirements and equipment; and proficiency in MS Office and Pi software. Knowledge of kraft pulping and chemical recovery processes is preferred.
